They make the cell membrane to be fluidy, flexible and soft to allow movement (in and out) of materials and other nutrients and chemicals needed by our body for normal function. That is, a normal functioning cell membrane helps the cell to function well.
When the cell membrane has more of omega 6 fatty acid, and less omega 3 fatty acid, it makes the cell membrane to loose it flexibility and softness.
